I've been all over reading Neruda's Residence on Earth, which makes me feel quite snooty. I wish I could be reading some fluffy summer something, but the ECE won't allow it.
I can't pretend that I grasp all of it. I'm just trying to appreciate a few images, a few phrases, a few intellectual concepts -- whatever I can get out of it.

I was at the lake side yesterday, reading John Ashbery's Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror.

p.s. Gwen, how are you liking Ashberry? I read about half of Self-Portrait in undergrad before throwing up my hands in frustration.
Amy,

Same with T.S. Eliot and Charles Simic.
